My Summer Bucket List

You are likely familiar with the idea of a bucket list for your life. Let’s focus on just this summer and what we would like to achieve. This is not a chore list or a “to do” list. Think bigger. Think fun.

Here’s some things I’ve been wanting to do for years but just never seem to get around to it.

  • Visit Willowbrook Village inNewfield, Maine. This 19th century village includes 23 vintage buildings and is open Thursday through Monday from 10 am to 5 pm. It opens for the summer on July 1st. Here are some tempting special events that appeal to me. They have more.July 4-5: Colonial Re-Enactment and More…

    July 17-19: Silent Movie Festival

July 25-26: Civil War Event/ High Tea/Reed Organ Concert

August 1: Centennial Brass Band Concert, 6-7PM, Tickets on Sale.

August 15-16: Agricultural Fair Weekend with Maine Antique Power Association

This isn't Willowbrook. It's from a historic village I visited in New Brunswick, Canada.

  • Enjoy folk music at the Ossipee Valley Music Festival in Maine. Here are the dates: Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 4 pm until Sunday, July 26 at 5 pm. The music and dances run until late in the evening. The ideal way to see it is to camp there with an RV so when you finish enjoying the music, you can just fall into bed.
