Take Time to Smell the Roses

Summer in New England is all too short. Savor every moment and yes, take some time to admire the roses.

These are Judy’s old-fashioned roses on a huge bush that reaches higher than my head. Their simple blossom is a far cry from the long-stemmed flowers one buys from the florist on Valentine’s Day.

They provide some lovely color and as you can see here, are irresistable to bees. That’s why I didn’t give them a sniff, but did take time to capture the industrious bee as he zipped from flower to flower gathering his pollen.

Isn't this a lovely rose? The bee loves it and I do too.
