BBQ on the Deck

One of the joys of summer…dining alfresco. We have a good-sized back deck so there’s room for the grill gazebo and a table for 4.

With the grill gazebo, even if it is raining, Denny has shelter to BBQ. The first few nights at camp, it was rainy and a bit chill so we ended up eating inside. Tonight we’ll have our first dinner on the deck.

It’s barbecued spareribs, saffron rice and corn on the cob tonight. Much too early for local corn, so I’m guessing Market Basket got this corn from Georgia. As the season progresses, we’ll have  corn on the cob from Maryland, then New Jersey, and finally from the local farms. Everyone eagerly anticipates the first New England corn.

I steam the corn in the microwave unless we are having a big crowd like for a lobster feast. Then I get out the big pot and steam it on the stove.
